UCSI University

UCSI University’s is one of Malaysia’s best private universities. It partners with the world’s leading universities, engages the best minds and works with global companies.

UCSI University is a vibrant community of learning and scholarship. Founded in 1986, UCSI was recognised as one of Malaysia’s first private universities by the Malaysian Ministry of Education. UCSI hosts around 10,000 students from over 80 countries at its campuses in Kuala Lumpur, Terengganu and Sarawak. The University’s academic offerings are as eclectic as its student cohort. Around 100 leading programmes are offered in the fields of medicine, engineering, biotechnology, information technology, business, hospitality, music, the social sciences, design and more.

World ranking

UCSI is ranked in the top 300 in the 2015 QS Asian University Rankings. It is also rated in Tier 5 – the highest rating achieved by universities in Malaysia – in the 2013 Rating System for Malaysian Higher Education Institutions. 

International collaborations

Evolving to meet the higher-order needs of industry and academia, UCSI now plays a pivotal role in the pursuit and expansion of knowledge. Its Vice-Chancellor and President, Senior Professor Dato’ Dr Khalid Yusoff – one of Malaysia’s leading cardiologists and an esteemed researcher – has been instrumental in this drive and UCSI is increasingly at the forefront of groundbreaking research. Collaborative links are constantly forged with the world’s best universities, opening doors for students and staff.

UCSI’s top medical and engineering students have been selected to pursue cutting-edge research at Harvard University and Imperial College London, respectively, and similar arrangements are being developed with collaborative partners in the Ivy League, Russell Group, Universitas 21 and Australia’s Group of Eight.

Internationalisation is another key focus at UCSI. Students from more than 80 countries study here, making the University a vibrant melting pot of culture and diversity. Exchange programmes abound and more strategic tie-ups are being forged with leading universities in France, Ireland and the UK.

New postgraduate programmes such as the eMBA and Postgraduate Diploma in Tertiary Teaching will be launched come 2016. Academic collaborations are being extended to India, Sri Lanka, Mauritius and Nepal.
