What I can offer
I have worked in various industries such as building construction projects, biodiesel process, fabrication of oil & gas structures and R&D. I have been active in research for the past 6 years and throughout this time; I have filed 6 intellectual property rights, published >20 technical papers, won 10 international/national level awards in invention fairs/exhibitions in the fields of Structural Fire Protection Materials Engineering and Cool Roof System Technology. I have served as a reviewer for several SCI-Q1 journals (Progress in Organics Coating, Energy Conversion & Management, Energy & Buildings, etc.). Leading postgraduate students can be an overwhelming job. As a supervisor, it is important to provide research guidance, support and advice on matters relating to the field of study. A professional and positive approach in building an effective graduate student-supervisor relationship will need to successfully complete the research project.

What I seek in a candidate
The postgraduate student of today is one who is resourceful, self-motivated, passion and innovative. On being a successful postgraduate student in the field of Materials and Manufacturing Engineering. He/she must have a good background or deep knowledge on the materials properties and manufacturing processes for engineering materials; self-discipline; good working ethics; read broadly and critically; learn how to write grant proposals; attend national/international conferences; able to design and carry out research in a professional way; accumulate the knowledge and skills necessary for doing innovative research, and good writing skills. Postgraduate students should have an interest, determination, motivation and passion for the research topic that they are pursuing. There is a rising awareness in all industries that cooperation in Research and development (R&D) is essential for future success. R&D is subject to continuous change which is accompanied by discontinuities, technological trends and changes in the market environment.

Latest research
My latest research fields focus on lightweight fire resistance board and heat reflective coatings.  The industry/field of expertise is mainly focused on passive fire protection wall panels and fire-rated doors.
