My Profile

As an academician, researcher, reviewer and supervisor, I equip myself with knowledge that is needed in this current era of time. I received my PhD scroll in 2012 and for the past few years, I have supervised masters and PhD students and it is very heart-warming to see them graduating as well. With the experience of being a reviewer for national, international and impact-factor journals, it has helped me to provide more constructive feedback and comments to help my students on their postgraduate journey. I have had opportunities to go, meet and exchange knowledge with researchers and postgraduate students from overseas such as New Zealand, Australia, Japan, Philipines, and Thailand. As for me, I provide helpful guidance and monitor my postgraduate students’ progress to ensure they consistently improve in their studies. I always encourage my students to be an independent learner who is able to solve problems in a more persistent and mature manner. This allows my students to grow in other phases that complement the academic world that he/she receives.

Path of a student

Personally, I feel the path of postgraduate student surely will not be that easy but it can be achieved with perseverance, determination, continuous commitment and self-discipline of the student. We will never know something if we are not willing to try. Therefore, it is the same in research. We are here to explore new knowledge and information that can contribute to the field of our study. Let’s try, one step at a time and definitely it will lead to success. It all depends on the strength of our will – if there’s a will, there’s a way.

Research interests

My research interests are in Educational Technology, Technology Acceptance, ICT in Teaching and Learning, E-Learning, Blended Learning and STEM Education. Nevertheless, it is not delimited only to this area of study.

Latest research

Presently, I am in work with two research projects. The first project aims to determine the antecedents that influence Malaysian secondary school students’ career choices in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics.  Whereas, the second projects is an external grant focusing on the post-training evaluation of Malaysian Maritime Academy trainers after a series of professional training.
