Wang Liting
Management Trainee, PwC
Share with us the story of your postgraduate journey.
In my master studies, I learned not only the fundamental theories and emerging technologies but also developed my professional skills which pave the way to my current job in PwC.
How did you choose this course and institution?
I highly recommend the Master in ITM programme in the Department of Computer Science, HKBU. Besides professional courses, we also got a lot of opportunities for career development, e.g. In some courses, the instructors are industry leaders with 20 years’ experience who inspired me a lot. Students who graduate from the programme would be well-equipped for work in related areas or pursuing a higher degree.
How did the Programme help with your career development/research?
I successfully got a job offer as a management trainee in PwC. The curriculum was very useful for my job seeking and current career development. In the job interview, the partner was impressed by my answers about fintech, which I learnt from the ITM programme. In my current work, I can apply the data analytics and visualizations skills I learnt in risk management projects.
What is your favourite part about your postgraduate degree?
My favourite part was the Global students' Hackathon organised by our Computer Science Department. I got the chance to work with students all over the world according to time zones and learn from different perspectives.
What advice would you give to someone considering a postgraduate degree?
Grab all opportunities that the ITM Programme provides to you, make good use of every day to enjoy the studies and city culture.
