Course profile

Master of Mathematics encompasses the study of applied mathematics, statistics and financial modelling to solve mathematical and real life problems. The programme structure is designed to meet the rapid changing needs and challenges of the education, manufacturing, banking, insurance, finance and investment-related industries.

Overall, the Master of Mathematics intends to produce graduates who are competent and highly skilled in jobs involving research, process optimisation, economy, finance, investment, statistics, teaching or consulting.

Upon completion of the programme, graduates are able to broaden their knowledge in research methodologies, use the appropriate statistical methodology to analyse the different types of data, deduce simple statements or mathematical relations by analysing the assumptions given.

Graduates will be able to exhibit advance knowledge and developments in education, data science, data mining, quality control, risk analysis, portfolio management, cryptology, investment and financial planning.
